September 2026 Art Recap

The new school year started in September, so naturally I’ve had much less time for hobbies and therefore much less to show than during the summer. Supplies I am quite the fan of the tiny 5x5cm sketchbooks. As these Chinese made products usually disappear quite quickly I ordered a few more for my stash: I […]

Summer holiday recap

This August (and early September) we took a long holiday. Two weeks in the Faroe Islands! We went there from Munich by car and ferry. Two days to reach the northern most tip of Denmark (Hirtshals) and then 1½ days by ferry to the Faroes. During that time I painted quite a bit. It was […]

July 2026 Art Recap

July was a slower month for me. It was the last month of school for the kids and things were a bit hectic as everything needed to be wrapped up. It was also stinking hot at times. Still, a few things were done. Gouache I took my gouache and my Hahnemühle Toned 14×14 sketchbook outside […]

Six months of doing art

Recap of all the art created in June 2026. This also marks six months of me picking up painting as a hobby.

May 2026 Art Recap

Another month is over and wow I didn’t expect to have so much to show, but I guess a whole month is actually a long time? 🤣 Gouache I feel like I made the most progress with my gouache work this month. It is quite different from watercolour and it took me a while to […]

April 2026 Art Recap

I thought I hadn’t done much in April, but it turns out that I was pretty busy! So many different things were happening. Tiny Painting I continued with my tiny paintings on 6.5×6.5cm paper using my tiny watercolour palette. So much fun! These days I always have six pieces of paper taped down to have […]

Month Three of Watercolor Sketching

This month of course saw me do some changes to my kit, too. I swear I do more painting than updating my setup. 😬 Now my palette is full and I am really enjoying it! I also got into “tiny painting”, in my case I am doing 6.5×6.5cm square images. This really suits me as […]

Month Two of Watercolor Sketching

This second month was a bit less intense. Still, I managed to create eight sketches, so not too bad actually. I did play around with my palette again, and this is probably something that will be a common occurrence. Painting and sketching is great, but so is playing with the tool! 🤣 I ended up […]

One Month of Urban Sketching

In January I got it into my head to start urban sketching. The first paintings weren’t that great, but I had a lot of fun and improved a lot. Also, new tools to explore!

2025 Stationery Review

It’s time to look back at 2025. Mainly for myself to review what I even did all year. It’s honestly not easy to remember a full year at my age. 😉 The biggest accomplishment (stationery wise) is probably the fact that I managed to finish 38 ink samples this year. That’s not as many as […]
